Tarporley is a town rich in history - with archaelogical finds in the area dating back to prehistoric times! It is thought that the current High Street was once a Roman road called Via Devana (meaning 'The Chester Road') which ran from Chester here in the North West to Colchester in the South East. Thankfully the Crown Hotel and it's staff are not quite that old, with the pub having been completely refurbished in late 2015 and new managers Lorenzo and Sharon moving here as recently as June 2017!
Who We Are
Lorenzo and Sharon are an Anglo-Italian couple with extensive experience in hospitality running bed and breakfasts, restaurants and even a horse riding holiday centre in Italy. Growing weary of the delicious food, abundant wine and glorious weather, they decided to return to Sharon's home in the North West of England.
Lorenzo's great passion in life is cooking, having grown up in his family's restauarant in Rome. He loves to cook with fresh, local, seasonal produce, good and simple food that speaks for itself. Whether he is preparing delicious, authentic Italian cuisine to his family's recipe or experimenting with his own ideas in a British-Italian fusion, you can be guaranteed to taste the care and attention he puts into every plate.
Sharon grew up in her grand parents pub in Liverpool, although she is a country girl at heart with a love for everything equestrian! She wants to provide you with a relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere where you can chill with friends and family over a refreshing glass of your favourite tipple.
We hope to see you soon!
A special place created for your total enjoyment, taking you into another world of amazing food and warm hospitality
